The Poly

The Poly is a diverse group of (mainly) ex-college paddlers. Formed originally to keep kayakers in touch after University, we now have well over 120 members worldwide.

The club has participated in many kayaking trips, including more than a dozen to the Alps, half a dozen to Norway; and fun holidays to Nepal, Costa Rica, Idaho, British Columbia, The Zambezi, Peru, Chile, Corsica, Alaska, California,New Zealand and Turkey.

For the second year running we had several alps trips, the longest lasting 5 weeks.Ten of us were in New Zealand in February 1998 and another Norway trip has just been successfully completed. More relaxed trips have included spending New Year at the Glenbeigh Festival in Ireland or, more usually, in Scotland. We also spend some of our time surfing or at rodeos, and of course we have a presence at both the Tyne and Dee tours.

New Year was seen in by many Poly members in Scotland this year. In May a team of 6 went to Turkey, another group went back to California and several more Alps trips are being completed.
